This video is a recording of a panel discussion with three women who are trailblazers in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) in Canada. Valerie Overend, a Red Seal carpenter, is an advocate and encourages young women and girls to pursue non-conventional career paths. Claire Deschênes was hired as the first woman professor of engineering at Laval University in 1989. Catherine Mavriplis is a mechanical and aeronautical engineering professor. They discuss their career journeys and the importance of sharing and archiving women’s stories in order to better foster the next generation of women in STEM.
