Loyalist College is actively seeking a collaborative leader to serve as their next Dean, School of Applied Sciences, Skills and Technology.

Reporting to the Senior Vice-President Academic, the Dean, School of Applied Sciences, Skills and Technology is accountable for contributing to the academic well-being and growth of the College and for providing academic and administrative leadership, supervision, support and direction to all faculty and staff in the School. The Dean is accountable for the planning, development, maintenance and ongoing quality review of the technology, skills and applied science full-time and part-time post-secondary programming offered within the School, ensuring the curriculum, and related vocational learning outcomes, meet or exceed the relevant external accreditation and licensing requirements. As the senior leader of the School, the Dean’s role is to be responsive to the needs of students, industry and the community, while aligning with the College’s strategic objectives. The Dean is also responsible for the applied research participation within the School and is accountable for the fiscal management of the School, including development of budgets and capital requests.

As the ideal candidate, you have academic leadership experience in a post secondary environment as well as any relevant industry experience, and hold a Master’s degree in engineering, technology, biotechnology or applied science, or another related discipline. You are an approachable and collegial leader with a demonstrated ability to inspire others to excel. You are an advocate for students, faculty and staff, and create and maintain an environment that fosters the recruitment, engagement and retention of talented people. You value relationships within, across, and outside the institution and actively build and maintain relationships that support the College’s goals. You have the ability to lead and support the College’s academic vision, recognizing important opportunities for growth, developing long range goals and inspiring the faculty community to achieve them. You are deeply committed to excellence in teaching and learning and applied research, and have a strong commitment to increasing accessibility, equity and diversity with the ability to promote an inclusive climate wherein every member of the community feels valued and accepted.
