In May 2013, Ireland’s Minister for Education and Skills announced a review of apprenticeship in Ireland to determine whether the model should be “retained, adapted or replaced by an alternative model of vocational education and training.” The Review was part of a wide-ranging reform programme in the Further Education and Training sector.
