You Will Use Your Expertise To:
As a Process Control Engineer, you will provide process control support to our gas phase Polyethylene plant. Opportunity to support other Ethylene or Polyethylene units may exist in the long-term.

Design, implement, and maintain control strategies on Honeywell TPS and PKS systems including advanced control and automated procedures.
Demonstrated programming capabilities on Honeywell DCS (TPS, PKS)
Lead the hazard review process for process control strategies.
Auditing controller benefits
Develop and maintain HMI’s (operator interface).
Provide process control support for unit and capital projects.
Perform alarm management activities.
Work as part of the plant multidisciplinary team to monitor plant performance and initiate action to improve
Monitor and maintain the integrity of the control system database.
Lead or participate in incident investigations
Provide technical assistance to the facility operating teams.

What We Are Looking For:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering as a minimum.
P.Eng in the province of Alberta (or eligible)
Minimum of 4 years experience in an operating facility.
Demonstrated ability to deliver results
Proven organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Assistant Professor, Environmental Engineering

The Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Manitoba invites applications for a full-time tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of Environmental Engineering (Position 30167) commencing July 1, 2021, or on a date mutually agreed upon. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

The successful candidate: 1) must hold an undergraduate degree in Engineering and doctoral degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related discipline; 2) must be registered or eligible for registration as a member of Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba; 3) will be expected to develop and teach Civil and Environmental Engineering courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels; 4) will be expected to establish an externally funded and sustainable research program, and 5) must possess excellent communication and leadership skills.

Duties include research, teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, student mentorship and supervision, and professional service to the Department, the Faculty, the University and the community.

We are particularly interested in candidates who complement the existing research expertise in the Department (https://umanitoba.ca/faculties/engineering/departments/civil/152.html) and have a demonstrated record of research and publications in the area of Environmental Engineering. The candidate is expected to develop a research program with scientific and industrial applications in environmental engineering to address one of the following: environmental issues in Northern Climate regions, emerging contaminants, climate change adaptation, resilience of environmental systems, and sustainability of environmental systems.

The Environmental Engineering Group constitutes a core portion of the Civil Engineering Department. The group has established collaborations both within the Faculty and the University, and with external industry and Canadian research networks. Its funding comes from NSERC, the City of Winnipeg, rural municipalities, and consulting industries. The Environmental Engineering Group has several state of the art Research and Testing Laboratories that includes recently upgraded teaching laboratories

McMaster University’s Faculty of Engineering invites applications for two teaching-track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering, located on the main university campus, to begin on July 1, 2021. The appointments will be for a three-year period, renewable for a further three years (subject to an academic assessment). During the second term, the appointees will be eligible to be considered for a permanent teaching appointment based on demonstrated excellence as an educator.

The successful applicant must have or be very near completion of a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, or closely related discipline by the time of the appointment. They must demonstrate a record of excellence in teaching and a willingness and ability to contribute to the department’s collegial and collaborative intellectual community as well as university-wide inclusive excellence goals and priorities. The applicant will be teaching chemical engineering core courses as well as courses promoting integrated learning, which are offered by the Faculty of Engineering. The position is classified as 80% teaching and 20% service, although involvement in pedagogical research is expected over the longer term, concerning introduction and use of appropriate instructional methodologies in the classroom. A fair amount of effort will be devoted to course development and the promotion of excellent teaching. Experience is required in teaching both chemical engineering core courses and multidisciplinary courses, using integrated learning methodologies. Registration as a Professional Engineer of Ontario or eligibility to acquire registration in Canada is an essential qualification.
